Terms and Conditions & Delivery Policy
 
Depending on the requested location, the renter shall provide Gearing Up Baby with a 3 hour window of time within which to make deliveries and to pick up equipment.  It is the renter’s responsibility to ensure that a responsible person is available to receive the delivery and when returning the equipment.   If necessary, it is the renter’s responsibility to notify building security and/or property managers if the delivery and pick up location are within a secured building.
 
Hotel delivery and returns are usually made at the front desk or hotel bell closet. When returning Gearing Up Baby Gear it is the renter’s responsibility to clearly tag the equipment with their name and ensure that it is returned to the hotel bell closet at the beginning of the prearranged 3 hour window of time.  It is the responsibility of the renter to not leave the Gear in the hotel room after check out. The renter is responsible for the equipment even after check out is complete.

If a delay in delivery or pick up of the Gear is caused by no one being available at the requested location during the designated delivery or pick up time, or property managers or security personnel are unaware of our delivery staff’s arrival, or you have failed to provide our staff with an access code for a secured building, an additional fee of $25 may be applied.
 
 
Damaged, Lost or Stolen Products


The renter agrees that the products must be returned in the condition received and any cost resulting from loss, theft, repair or replacement will be charged to the credit card on file.
With the exception of high chairs, Gearing Up Babymaintains a “no food or drink” policy for all rental equipment (water is OK). This is to ensure that the equipment remains clean and safe for our next renters.
Products must be returned with all accessories and parts intact and in proper working order. Any damage to rental equipment, aside from normal wear and tear, will be repaired at the expense of the renter.  If the damage is excessive, the equipment may be replaced at the renter’s expense at full replacement cost.
The renter is responsible for loss or theft of rental equipment and agrees to pay for any replacements at the full replacement cost.
In the event of equipment lost at a hotel, car rental agency, rental property or any other type of delivery and pick up destination Gearing Up Baby will provide the renter 72 hours to attempt to retrieve the lost product. It is not the responsibility of Gearing Up Baby to attempt to retrieve lost equipment. If the product in not retrieved in good condition by the renter within the 72 hour time period the credit card on file will be charged for the full replacement cost of the item.

 
Cancellations and Early Returns

Orders cancelled within 48 hours of the delivery date will be charged 50% of the original order amount.  Refunds on early returns will be discussed on a case by case basis.  There will be no refunds on early returns during holiday periods between November 25 and January 3, or during summer months from June 1 to September 30.


 
Safety and Sanitation

Safety is a primary concern when renting baby equipment. All equipment is up to date and meets current Canadian Safety Standards. Equipment is inspected and replaced as needed.  Gearing Up Baby staff will remain up to date with any changes in standards for infant care and safety.

Car Seat Installation
 
We regret that car seats will not be installed by our staff. Information on installing car seats is posted on the car seats.
 
Liability 
 
Gearing Up Baby is not responsible for any injury during the use of our equipment. All equipment is CSA certified and inspected for damage following each return and on a regular basis. Gearing Up Baby uses only items purchased from major retail chains in Canada.  Any use improper or otherwise causing injury or death is not the responsibility of Gearing Up Baby.
